Living in North Carolina, you hear stories of people traveling. Whether phantom cars, hitchhikers, or ghosts of people who passed in accidents are the subjects of such stories. My neighborhood has an underpass leading into it. I always liked watching the trains go over it.

All sorts of stories are told about bridges and things following you as you drive alone down a dark, winding road in the middle of nowhere. The world is a strange place with strange occurrences that people blame on some divine entity(ies) or Science! The answers we will never know in our life time. I hope humanity never finds them or else the wanderlust is gone and automatons rule the world. (Literally.)
North Carolina has a backwards agriculture. The mountains are still mountainous, but if the right money is passed through the right hands, then someone can build a house on a mountain ridge and break up the beautiful scenery. The beach is about the same way. Building on the sand dunes is prohibited, but that doesn't stop some people.
All kinds of people live in this neck of the woods. My county is a mix of farmland, city, rural, wood, mountains, and urban. Through the building of massive apartment complexes, there are still wooded areas that have families living in isolation.
Even with a group of people, you run into the strangest of things. When this situation happens, hopefully someone in your group witnesses it with you. It helps with the overwhelming feeling of going insane. Psychiatric help can be suggested for Folie a Deux, but what if it isn't a shared delusion you both see? The tangibility of the surreal comes to life and stricken panic overwhelms your natural instinct to get away safely and unnoticed.
I'm alive! More stories and pictures are coming, I promise. I just decided to take the month of January off to compile and find more creepiness for you guys.
So happy all the merriment of holidays that i missed! As the holidays roll by and that certain time of cheer rolls in, everyone gets into the spirit. Whether its singing, dancing, or humming; eventually their mood becomes catchy.
This one such story comes from my aunt, who I will refer to as C for anonymity. Have you ever witnessed something so strange that it took you days, weeks even, to realize what you saw? Maybe by the 2 week mark you have convinced yourself that you were dreaming or hallucinating because it is cold and flu season. Maybe you are sick? Maybe you hit your head and conveniently forgot the experience and in the blackout, this is what you saw.
Down south our rail system is half in use and half ruins. I can imagine that further north, the rail system is an integral part of life. I can imagine that train hopping from place to place was much easier than it is now. Everything has security and a team of people to make sure there are no hitchhikers. Not to mention the dogs. This particular story is probably told in any town that has a train system. Being in an old mill state and where coal mining is still done in the mountains, we have train tracks that go far and wide.
Our art studio moved from the bank into a new building in a new city. With a new place comes new trouble.
